Unique Foam Stamps by ArtFoamies
in collaboration with Fodder School
Every once in a while in life something really cool presents itself to you and you just cannot say no to it.
Our foam stamp collaboration with Art Foamies is that kinda opportunity.
What does this mean?
It simply means that many of our beloved Fodder School teachers are teaming up with ArtFoamies to offer you a selection of their amazing designs as stamps for you to use in your art.
Not yet familiar with foam stamps?
At this point, I think everyone is familiar with rubber stamps, right? An ArtFoamie is similar in concept to a rubber stamp, but is a unique product that is incredible when used in mixed media artist, collage artist, block printing, or any art or craft project.
These versatile and easy to use stamps (you can see what they look like in many of the photos below) are made of foam material that is soft and flexible, allowing it to be easily pressed onto surfaces like paper or fabric to create patterns or designs.
ArtFoamies come in a huge variety of designs, and they can be used with different types of ink or paint to add decorative elements to art projects such as collage papers, scrapbooking, card making, or block printing on fabric or paper.
Susanne Randers
I'm a HUGE fan of Susanne's design aesthetic! I love having that "hand carved stamp" look in my own artwork and I really appreciate that I don't have to do all of the carving and designing myself. Susanne’s stamps come in sets of twos and fours, filled with all the floral and botanical goodness you could ever ask for! Her series of Artist Trading Cards using her signature pink and chartreuse color palette made the perfect backdrop for stark black and white fussycuts of her stamp designs. I really enjoyed using her stamps in a more neutral color palette and to add texture to some of my gelli plate printings!

Yetunde Rodriguez
In September of Fodder School 3, we had so much fun block printing on fabrics with Yetunde, who showed us how to then use our fabrics to create handmade vessels—Think plant pots and storage containers for your home and art studio. I had so much fun making these plant pots, but let me tell you, carving your own fabric stamps is a lot of hard work! Luckily, Yetunde’s foam stamps made the process a breeze when my hands needed a rest. Her designs are abstract cultural motifs that appear throughout much of her own work, and that she is happy to share with the world in hopes it can appear in your art too!

Jack Ravi
In his November Fodder school 4 lessons, Jack covered a wide (and I mean really wide) range of new techniques. One such technique he taught us is how to create your very own sigil, which he defines as such: "Creating a sigil is a simple process that involves distilling the essence of a thought, a word, an intention, or a quote into a unique symbol. As the sigil takes shape, it becomes a personal talisman, that can be turned into a custom stamp to leave intentional imprints into our pages, adding purpose and meaning." Jack’s foam stamps include literal affirmation phrases and his awesomely abstract sigils, which add a graphic flair to any of your projects.

Angela Kennedy
The main focus of Angela's February Fodder School 4 lessons was showing us how we can make our own paper dolls in her signature style, which includes both drawing and painting. Angela's ArtFoamies collection is designed as a complement to help you get a head start and as a way for you to easily incorporate Angela's signature style into ANY of your mixed media projects. Some of the stamps come faceless and with wings—these will be great for practicing drawing faces! The other sets of stamps are doll torsos with multiple heads— if you purchase multiple sets, you would have so many mix-and-match combinations!

Leaca Young
Leaca's ArtFoamie collection has some of her favorite motifs that she uses across all her art—with how versatile the flower, bird, and silhouette imagery is, you can definitely find a way to use these stamps if you're drawn to them! Since her stamps have so much printable surface area, I absolutely love all the color possibilities that open up when painting directly on the stamp. Her designs are so delicate, and add an ethereal touch whether as a fussycut, or applied directly to your art. I enjoyed stamping on fabric when binding an art journal, but I was blown away by the tags Leaca made and the greeting cards Kae Pea put together using these stamps!
