Wendy Shragg, our August & September instructor in Fodder School 5, has designed a collection of LARGE Typography-Inspired Pattern stamps! Wendy Shragg was first introduced to Willa Workshops as a teacher in Fodder School 5 (check out her Instagram account @wendyshragg_designs for some truly gorgeous eye candy).
When I say Wendy's stamps are unlike any stamps you've ever seen, I mean it! These stamps are approximately 5" x 7", which may not seem like a lot at first, but trust me: the experience of holding and using stamps of this size is a LOT different than using a gel plate of a similar size, or any other ArtFoamies you've used for that matter.
Personally, I had a lot of fun using these stamps over backgrounds in my journal pages, and then adding details with my white pens (the Saga (IYKYK) continues and a YouTube video is coming soon) and colorful Sakura Gelli Roll gel pens!
Here's how Wendy describes her collection:
“This collection began with an exploration of typography; not for its ability to communicate words, but for its remarkable collection of shapes. Although rooted in typography, these designs explore shape, relationship, and composition beyond language itself. I don’t think of these as eight separate stamps. To me, they feel like eight conversations about design. By isolating curves, counters, stems, angles, and negative spaces, familiar letter forms became something entirely new: abstract compositions designed for creative exploration. ”
